At the tail end of this post, we’ll recommend our best pick among the two based on our unbiased reviews of both tools. In this comparison guide, we’ll review Procreate vs Sketchbook based on what they are, how they work, their features, pricing, pros, and cons. The best part is that you can even draw while on the go depending on the device you’re working from. These apps make sure you don’t have to spend money to get all the tools you need, only to run out of ink and have to spend again to replenish your supplies.īoth drawing apps are chock-full of features and tools that’ll help you get creative. Two of these apps are Procreate and Sketchbook. If you have a tablet like the iPad, which works with Apple Pencil, you can get creative with some good drawing apps available on the platform. With a digital sketchbook, you have an infinite number of canvases on which you can create unique sketches or drawings for keepsakes, to share with others, or even sell. I recommend getting the app if you just feel like drawing or if you are getting into drawing.Whether you’re a novice or talented artist, you’ll want to keep sketching and drawing to perfect your craft or skill and take your art to a whole new level. I would love it if I could just invite my friend and he would help out in a drawing project.Īll in all, with the 3 changes/additions I made, this app gets a 5 star rating but without those changes it get a good 4 stars. A final addition which would be my favourite is the addition to share a drawing document with someone else. Another thing to change could be a way so that the gradient tool had a mode where the middle colour was just the two colours perfectly merged and so the gradient would be seamless. I find it a bit annoying when I am trying to fill in a drawing and it floods everywhere, luckily there is the undo button. What I mean by this is that the fill tool will only fill until a gap get to a certain thickness. It would be nice if the fill tool was like a smart fill tool. There is a few features that I would like Autodesk to add. The app is great for people who are drawing for the first time or if experienced people just want to draw anywhere without bringing a computer with them. ![]() I love sketchbook, it has many brush and pencil styles, a unlimited amount of layer possible and an intuitive menu making finding everything incredibly easy without getting in the way of you drawing. Great Drawing App But Could Use A Small Amount Of Changes I would definitely recommend this app to anyone looking for an effective phone/tablet drawing app. The touch and drag system is nice, and it even has a stabiliser! I draw on my iPhone with my finger, and I can say that it’s very easy to use and produces very lovely drawings! I love drawing and now I can do it wherever I go. As I said before, there are SO MANY BRUSHES! You can easily play around with different styles and backgrounds. It has everything a full paying professional program has. I thought this app would just be another one constantly begging you to pay but it exceeded my expectations by far! It’s completely free, with no brushes to buy or features to unlock for money! It has a massive variety of brushes and erasers and blending tools! The preface is pretty simple and easy to use. I just wanted a free drawing app with a simple layer system. I got so bored and tired that i was willing to try anything. I was looking for any free drawing app for a long time. Thanks for reading and have a nice day :) ![]() Some reviews talk about it lagging, but that has never happened to me so it has probably been fixed. I highly recommend downloading Sketchbook, as it is completely free, has no ads, super easy to use, and has so many features. I draw with my finger, and I can still create art that looks good. ![]() Many apps only work well if you use an Apple Pencil. I feel that I discover something new about the app every other day, like how you can easily turn the brush you’re using into an eraser version of it, or create colour palettes, or change the tolerance of the fill feature so you can fill a specific colour even if the colours next to it are really similar. There are heaps of brushes, blenders, and erasers, and each one of those has advanced settings (which are also really easy to use) so you can make them exactly how you like. ![]() I accidentally skipped the tutorial, but after a while of messing around with it, I have a pretty good idea of how everything works. It’s also really easy to work out what to do. It has no ads, no in app purchases, and doesn’t collect any of your data. This is, by far, the best free drawing app I’ve ever used.
